Planners plan ahead, especially for Halloween. We've got a list of some costume ideas for us planner folk.
1. NUM4TOT fanboy/girl
Are you in the New Urbanist Memes for Transit-Oriented Teens (NUM4TOT) group yet? Well, you probably should be if you like transit and New Urbanism and bike lanes. This can just be a train, or even a transit rider. What completes the ensemble however is that you must stay in character all night and say things like "angery reaccs only for this sprawling neighborhood" and "c o s t u m e b o i".
2. Hyperloop
This costume is pretty simple. Just wear something that says Hyperloop. No verbal approval needed!
3. Bikelane
You can add many variations to this one. Instead of this green example, you can make it resemble the bike lanes that you might have in your own city! Unmarked and full of cars who think its a shoulder.
4. 2020 Census
The biggest story that nobody is talking about. Maybe you can strike up a conversation and inform others of the looming crisis at your Halloween party.
5. Affordable housing
Dress up like a house, hell even a tiny home. Just be ready when everyone else at the party agrees you should be there, but just not anywhere near them.
6. Sign code violation
Perhaps the scariest of all costumes you could choose. The dreaded sign code violation. When wearing this costume you will need to wait to show up until after all the people wearing police officer uniforms leave the party. You'll also need to keep busy and go out of your way to distract everyone trying to have a good time.
